Vouched Raises $17M Series A to Expand AI Agent Identity Verification Platform

AI-powered identity verification company Vouched has secured $17 million in Series A funding led by Spring Rock Ventures, with participation from returning investor BHG VC. The funding will support the expansion of Vouched’s “Know Your Agent” (KYA) platform, which verifies and monitors identities of both AI agents and humans. The latest development builds on Vouched’s established track record in remote identity verification and biometric onboarding services.

The investment follows Vouched’s $6.3 million venture round in 2023 and will enable the company to scale product development, expand industry partnerships, and advance innovation in AI agent identity verification. Originally known for human identity verification using selfie photos and official documents, Vouched has evolved to address the emerging need for trust and security in AI-driven interactions, having previously demonstrated its expertise through partnerships with organizations like Zenoo’s refugee digital ID platform.

The KYA platform provides comprehensive lifecycle management for human and AI agent identities, incorporating credential verification, risk assessment, and compliance capabilities. Built on the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the platform includes Vouched’s MCP-Identity extension, enabling AI agents to verify their identity, authorization, and permissions in real time. The development comes as the digital identity landscape increasingly embraces automated systems and AI-driven verification processes.

Vouched has also launched the KnowThat.ai Agent Reputation Directory, a community-driven system for organizations to check and report on AI agent reputations, facilitating verifiable and portable agent histories. The initiative addresses growing concerns about AI authentication and verification in digital interactions.

“We are doubling down on KYA’s vision of trustworthy autonomous agents and scaling our platform to match the pace of a rapidly evolving digital world with this Series A,” said Peter Horadan, CEO of Vouched. “We are grateful for our investors’ confidence and are excited to realize the next phase of growth for Vouched, our partners, and the communities we serve.”

The company serves regulated industries including e-commerce, healthcare, finance, and automotive, verifying millions of human and AI agent identities annually. “Working with Vouched has been a game‑changer for us,” said Andrew Stone, SVP of Fraud and Financial Crimes at BHG Financial. “Their team is responsive, collaborative, and truly invested in our success. They don’t just deliver technology—they deliver confidence.”

The platform’s technical capabilities include document capture, data extraction, selfie-based liveness detection, and web-based verification of Mobile Driver’s Licenses via Google Wallet, supporting the broader trend of digital driver’s license adoption across the United States. Vouched provides developer infrastructure including turnkey MCP-Identity servers, SDKs, and APIs for enterprise system integration.
