For Virtual Care

Verify both sides of the camera.

Give referring physicians and community providers verified access through EpicCare Link, and confirm who’s on both sides of a virtual visit before it starts.

Clinician identity verified for EpicCare Link accessDr. Lena Okafor, a referring physician, requests EpicCare Link access, scans her ID and takes a live selfie, optionally completes the IAL2 workflow with a DMV check, and is granted logged, auditable access. The risk

Unverified access is invisible until it isn’t.

External clinicians and affiliates request access to records you hold. Without verified identity, account takeover, proxy visits and prescription fraud surface only downstream.

An ID matched to a live selfie, with an optional IAL2 workflow that adds phone and email checks and a DMV record check.

  3. 3

    Before the visit

Patients and clinicians are both verified before a virtual visit starts.

  4. 4

    At renewal and recovery

Re-verify affiliates when access renews or credentials are reset.

The proof

Trusted for clinical handoffs.

Abstractive Health uses Vouched’s NIST IAL2 workflows to let physicians share patient summaries with doctors outside their practice.

Partnering with Vouched gave us exactly that through NIST IAL2 workflows. What started as a feature request became a fundamentally better approach to clinical handoffs. No more faxing records.

FAQ

Clinicians, answered.

Straight answers for Virtual Care leaders about clinician identity.

Contact us with a question
How does Vouched verify external clinicians?

Through EpicCare Link, external clinicians verify with a government ID matched to a live selfie at account creation and account recovery, with an optional NIST IAL2 workflow.

What does the IAL2 workflow add?

Phone and email checks matched to the person’s name, document and selfie verification with liveness, and validation of the driver’s license against DMV records. Any manual override voids IAL2 compliance.

Does Vouched check medical licenses?

Vouched verifies personal identity. It works alongside your credentialing process, so license checks run on a verified person.

Can both sides of a virtual visit be verified?

Yes. Verify the patient and the clinician before the visit starts, so each knows who is on the other side of the camera.

Which documents are accepted for IAL2?

Only REAL ID driver’s licenses and mobile driver’s licenses (mDLs). Each is validated through document checks and an authoritative record check, and expired IDs are rejected.
