Vouched has earned Ready to Operate (RTO) approval from the Kantara Initiative, confirming the company meets the rigorous NIST SP 800-63A Identity Assurance Level 2 (IAL2) standard for remote identity proofing. The independent review evaluated Vouched's document verification, selfie biometric matching, liveness detection, and fraud controls — making Vouched only the 8th digital identity provider to join Kantara's trust status list.
"This certification is a milestone that reflects the depth of investment we've made in building identity verification that enterprises and regulators can truly trust," said Peter Horadan, CEO at Vouched. "IAL2 is the gold standard for remote identity proofing, and achieving Kantara's Ready to Operate approval positions Vouched to serve our customers in the most demanding, regulated environments with full confidence."
The approval arrives as Vouched deepens its push into healthcare. The company has been powering HIPAA-compliant clinician verification for patient pre-charting workflows with Abstractive Health, and its IDV system was integrated by Epic earlier this year to verify patients at sign-up — both now backed by the IAL2 distinction.
